THE BEST OF ECUADOR AND THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS

This tour takes in the best of Ecuador in 2 action packed weeks, starting on a Saturday through till the following Friday.

In 2 weeks we will show you the best of the 3 regions in Ecuador. As you will be able to observe, Ecuador is so beautiful and so different that you always need more time to spend here. We organize programs according to the interest of the passengers and we feel the following program will satisfy all interests for this diverse little country. The program can be tailored for individual groups according to their specific interests.

Day 1: Arrival to Quito
Check- in to the hotel followed by a short briefing of the program and dinner in a typical restaurant. Overnight Quito.

Day 2: Equator Line - Quito City Tour
Lunch and free afternoon.

Day 3: Quito - Cotopaxi
Cotopaxi National Park is a protected area that goes from an altitude of 3.200m up to 6.000mts. It has 4 climatic zones: Andean forest, paramo, high plateau and glacier. Cotopaxi is claimed to be the highest and the most perfectly shaped active volcano in the world. It is certainly Ecuador's most famous volcano. Visit the museum, Limpiopungo Lagoon and the refuge. Lunch inside the park. Return to Quito late afternoon. Overnight Quito.

Day 4: Jungle Samona Lodge 4D/3N
Quito - Lago Agrio - El Puente. Flight 10:30 a.m. or bus journey (one day before 8 hour journey) to Lago Agrio. Drive from Lago Agrio to el Puente. Canoe trip down the Cuyabeno River to our camp place. Exciting night walk.

Day 5:
After Breakfast, trek into the primary rain forest learning about medicinal plants amongst other flora and fauna. After lunch, journey downstream to relax and enjoy the surrounding nature on inner tubes (tubing).

Day 6:
After breakfast we paddle by traditional dug-out canoe on the Caiman-Cocha (Laguna del Caiman) where we will enjoy the unique nature, lunch, and hike in the primary forest including lessons in the use of plants for survival. Before we go back to our camp, we'll have time to swim and enjoy the sunset on the magnificent Laguna Grande.

Day 7: Lago Agrio to Quito
Early morning bird watching. After breakfast journey up Cuyabeno river to El Puente. Drive back to Lago Agrio at 16:00. Flight or bus journey back to Quito.

Day 8:
Transfer in and overnight in Quito.

Day 9: Otavalo Indian Market
Visit to the Market, Cuicocha Lagoon and Cotacachi Village. Lunch and return to Quito Late Afternoon. Overnight Quito.

Day 10: Galapagos Cruise Amigo yacht 5D/4N Sun - Thurs

Day 11:
Sunday: Flight to Baltra Island. p.m. Visit Black Turtle Cove.

Day 12:
Monday: a.m. Seymour Island. p.m. Plazas Islands.

Day 13:
Tuesday: Arrival at San Cristobal Island: a.m. Marine Wolfs Islet. p.m. Interpretation Centre & Tijeretas.

Day 14:
Wednesday: Española Island: a.m. Gardner Bay. p.m. Suarez Point.

Day 15:
Thursday: a.m. Visit Highlands of Santa Cruz Island and transfer to the airport. Transfer to hotel and overnight in Quito.

Day 16:
Transfer out
