Bird watching and Nature Tours in Ecuador
With Ecuador being the most bio diverse country on the planet, its no surprise that the flora and fauna here are incredible. Even in Quito spectacular Black Tailed Train-bearer Hummingbirds can be found whizzing between the bright flowers.
We have a range of tours that will take you to some of the hotspots, many of which are just a short drive from Quito.
Heading north, you'll happen upon Mindo at around 1050 metres above sea level, world renowned for some spectacular birding, and the famous Bellavista Cloud Forest reserve sits close by at approaching 2000 metres above sea level; two amazing eco systems just one hour apart and 2 hours from Quito.
As well as the bird life there are a great deal of plants, flowers and insects to enjoy, making these spectacular reserves a joy to walk through for any nature lover. Huge Morphous butterflies flap erratically down trails, whilst brightly coloured beetles can be found sunning on giant leaves. The huge diversity of this area is due to the meeting of the fresh Amazonian winds with the rocks, forest and water of the high Andean mountains.
Other areas of equal interest and subtly different flora and fauna are scattered around the edges of Quito; places of stunning natural beauty steeped with rivers, water falls, thermal waters, rainforest, and much, much more.
These wonderful places are: Mindo rainforest, Pasochoa Andean Forest Volcano reserve, Papallacta hot springs, Bellavista Cloud Forest Reserve, and the sub tropical Puerto Quito.
We offer the following basic packages that can be easily extended for longer stays.
